Timezer’s onboarding wizard collects the minimum: category, Services vs Sports/Resources, name, URL, timezone, currency, address, map pin, hours, seeded services, first staff. It does not connect payments, deposits, PIX, packages, or cameras. Owners who stop at the wizard get a pretty page that still takes bookings on WhatsApp.
Use this sequence. It is the intended path for a live tenant.
Day 0 — pick the engine (do not guess)
This choice forks the entire Admin menu. Wrong choice is expensive.
- Services — humans with skills and durations: barbers, dentists, therapists, consultants, most clinics.
- Resources — bookable assets: courts, rooms by the hour, sports tags, blockages, mensalistas, Edge replay.
There is no “gym vertical” in the booking engine. A gym that sells PT hours is Services. A gym that rents a court is Resources. Access control / turnstiles are not in the product. Athlete motivation apps are not Timezer.
Day 1 — identity that Google can trust
- Confirm
timezer.com/{url}spelling. You will print this on GBP and Instagram. - Logo, banner, colours (visual identity / layout website).
- Hours that match the door. False hours create no-shows you caused.
- Map pin from the wizard — directory and “near me” depend on it.
Day 2 — inventory
Services tenant: real service names, durations, prices, who performs them. Delete seed services you do not sell.
Resources tenant: each court as a resource, sports catalog, prices per hour, blockages for maintenance.
If it is not in the catalog, it will be a WhatsApp exception forever.
Day 3 — people
Invite real staff. Do not share the owner password. Follow staff invites. Add a secretary if someone runs the front desk.
Sports venues: create the owner + secretary; do not fake staff named after courts.
Day 4 — money rails
Connect at least one of: Stripe, Mercado Pago, Direct PIX. Make a R$1 / £1 test.
Without a rail, deposits are slogans.
Day 5 — policy and notifications
- Write the four policy numbers (deposit %, capture, free-cancel hours, retain %).
- Choose Email / SMS / WhatsApp according to your messaging wallet.
- Send yourself a test booking from an incognito window.
Day 6 — retention extras (optional, services)
- One prepaid pack if you have a repeating service.
- Fidelity card only if you will actually stamp it.
- Subscription plans only if you can explain them in one sentence.
Courts: configure mensalista plans rather than service packs.
Day 7 — go live where clients already are
- Google Business Profile action → your
/booking(or resource booking) URL. - Instagram / WhatsApp bio →
timezer.com/{you}. - Print the PWA “install” instruction for regulars.
- Courts with cameras: schedule Timezer Edge install; QR posters for replay. Camera pairing is assisted — do not promise a self-serve rack on day 7.
Then stop adding features for a week. Count completed online bookings vs WhatsApp leftovers. If WhatsApp still wins, the public flow is too long or payments are still optional — see no-shows.
FAQ
Why does Admin say “Patient management” in some menus?
The customers module was named with clinics in mind. It is the same client list for a barbershop. Treat it as “clients.” That wording is a UX debt; the data model is generic.
The empty Admin told me to download an app.
You can run Timezer in the browser and as a PWA. If you have no business yet, finish the wizard first. The download nudge is for owners who registered and then stalled.
Can I change Services to Resources later?
Not as a casual toggle. Calendars, menus, and data are different. Choose correctly on day 0. If you truly chose wrong, treat it as a new tenant rather than a hidden switch.
When do I add packages and fidelity?
After five successful paid online bookings, not before. They are leverage, not oxygen.
Where are the long articles for barbers and replay ROI?
The HotSite already has Brazil barbershop and (Portuguese) replay commercial articles. This Learn hub is the operations layer those pages should link to — and the layer AI crawlers get via /llms.txt and /learn/{slug}.md.
